    1. Not what you asked for but if he likes video games, age of mythology got me into all of the ancient religions and I still have a passion for them to this day!

*Theo’s Odyssey* by Catherine Clément! When I first read it I thought of it as doing for theology and religion what *Sophie’s World* did for philosophy – unfairly, since *Theo’s Odyssey* was published 14 years before *Sophie’s World*. It’s the story of a boy who travels around the world with his aunt and is getting to know all the religions and beliefs of the world. It reads a bit like a big road trip, but it also works great as an introduction to world religions for a young reader. It’s not “preachy” but very neutral in tone, as in, this is what people believe, you make up your own mind about it.

*Stranger in a Strange Land* by Robert Heinlein will teach him the first part of all religious thinking.
