I read for several hours every day. Most of what I read is technical, academic or other heavy nonfiction.
A change of pace and genre is needed to read at bedtime. Though I enjoy page-turning fiction, I need fiction that won't steal my sleep like Life of Pi did, although I regret nothing!
I've read all the Mitford books, which worked well for bedtime as did Incredibly Bright Creatures. Interesting and calming, but not page-turners.
Any recommendations for simple, calming fiction? Nothing with complex settings or dozens of characters like my beloved LoTR books, please.
TIA!
