    1. I suggest this with the most caution because I’ll never read it again even though I loved it.

“A heart that works” by Rob Delaney

It’s non-fiction and is about the loss of his child.

*Crying in H Mart* is a memoir about losing a parent. *Landbridge* is a memoir about living and dying. Both are gut-wrenching. So is *Dictée*.

never let me go AND klara and the sun – kazuo ishiguro (dystopian, lit fic)

flowers for algernon – daniel keyes (sci fi(??), lit fic)

i’m thinking of ending things – iain reid (horror adjacent, just weird)

house of bone and rain – gabino iglesias (horror, one of my top 5 of last year, made me sob)

boys in the valley – phillip fracassi (saddest horror i’ve read…. so far)

      what the FUCK gut punches:

      brother – ania ahlborn (horror)

the ruins – scott smith (horror)

      Demon Copperhead.

I read the whole book thinking “Good God, can’t this kid get a break?”
