My 8 yr old really does well with graphic novels she will sit and finish in one day but regular books are harder for her.
I'm looking for social emotional learning type books preferably graphic novels, picture books, things like that.
She gets overwhelmed really easily by emotions, big emotions. We are trying many different things, but intentionally trying to find her books that she can learn through. Ones that teach how to cope with situations. Give her more tools for her toolbox.
I really get encouraged by how much she enjoys reading comics or graphic novels so that's my number one category but any book suggestions will do. I'm trying to search options that my local libraries may have as well.
Thanks for the help

The Worry Box was a game changer for my anxious kid! It’s a picture book, but we read it together and made our own worry boxes. It’s been two or three years and she still occasionally adds her worries to it.
If she would consider a picture book perhaps “When Sophie Gets Angry- Really, Really Angry,” “When Sophie Thinks She Can’t,” and “When Sophie’s Feelings are Really, Really Hurt,” all by Molly Bang.
