Looking for a Mother's Day gift! My mom is getting into Scandinavian mysteries. However, she doesn't like when books get too violent (for an example, she said Val McDermid's more recent books are way too violent for her). Thanks for any suggestions!

I’ve just started reading the Sandhamn Murders by Viveca Sten. She also has other series, though I haven’t read them yet. Obviously there are murders, but so far it’s all about the solving and not so much gore!
Jussi Adler-Olsen Department Q series. The first is called The Keeper of The Lost Causes.
A Department Q series is coming on Netflix 29.5
Literally anything Icelandic. I don’t mean to generalise about a whole nation, but Icelandic Noir is delightfully tame in comparison to their more South Eastern cousins.
*Reykjavík* by Ragnar Jónasson and Katrín Jakobsdóttir or *The Sanatorium*, also by Ragnar Jónasson
Darkness Knows by Arnaldur Indriðason
