Hi, all. Looking for books that are disturbing, twisty, can't-put-down but are realistic fiction only (no fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction).
Some that I've enjoyed that fit this are Penpal by Dathan Auerbach, The St. Ambrose School for Girls by Jessica Bird, many Freida McFadden books (though these are hit or miss for me), Kiss the Girls by James Patterson, The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward (this one started a bit slow though), The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand, Burned by Ellen Hopkins, The Conformist by Alberto Moravia…
As you can probably tell from this list, I'm open to both mainstream and indie authors, both "deep" and more "frothy" reads, both adult and YA audience.
I'm compiling a summer reading list, so bonus points if there are summer elements to the book.
Thanks for any recs!

Honestly, Tender is the Flesh could become realistic (though I would hope not)
