Looking for fiction books about the death penalty from a relative’s perspective

I'm in the mood to burst into tears uncontrollably, and the only 2 books to ever do that to me (Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo and Moonrise by Sarah Crossan) are both about innocent people being sentenced to death, and are both told from a relative's perspective. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
