I would suggest Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi! It’s a pretty short book that you can definitely finish reading within a couple of hours, and what’s interesting is that it’s a collection of short stories (although they are connected to each other). It’s the first book of the series but it can also be a standalone if you choose just to read the first book.
