Hey! I have tried reading different books and it looks like I lost interest in ordinary fictions or I don't know how to define it further. Only books that I have enjoyed over the last year was Dalyrimple's Anarchy, Orwel's 1984 and some others which are more historical and political in nature. So I would like to have some suggestions of books that are similar.

Historical fiction, Non – fictional History, anything will do.

P.S I would prefer a bit famous book as I rely on a Public Library, which is large enough bot won't be that sufficient for a wider collection. And I reside in India, if a bit of context matters.

    1. The Black Jacobins – deals with the Haitian Revolution, the only succesful slave revolt.

Orwell has a bunch of more fascinating books that are more autobiographical: ”down and out in paris and london” and ”homage to Catalonia” are both great. He also wrote ”Burmese Days”, about his time in british india. i haven’t read that one myself but since you mentioned india this might be good as well.

you might find Kurt Vonnegut interesting as well: Slaughterhouse five
