I’ve got two books stuck in my head and I can’t seem to remember the titles and I’m hoping someone might recognize it. Both of them are chapter books that I read in late elementary or middle school and both involve some time travel.
The first book starts off with the main character needing to get her glasses repaired cause she broke them. She might have also lost them but I’m not sure. Then once in her room, she notices something shinny in the corner of the room. She goes over to look and it’s a pair of glasses (they might resemble her own pair). She puts them on and gets sent back in time to her current location at her house but a while back in time. While in the past, she meets this girl roughly her age and they become friends. I’m fairly certain that girl had brothers who were very mean. The first time she time travels she doesn’t stay for long. Then she time travels back again at least one more time. I recall the specifics but I think a barn might be included. During her last time travel, she try’s to plan with the girl she became friends with to bring her back to the main character’s present time. The fmc gets a little worried about how to explain to her parents who this new girl is but when the both of them return to the fmc’s present time, it was like history had been rewritten cause the new girl was automatically part of the family. I’m pretty sure they were putting up wallpaper when they came back to the present.
The second book I remember less of. It surrounded a group of friends who I believe loved investigating stuff and mysteries. I would like to say it was a series. In one book they traveled back in time and attended a party at a vineyard/empty field that might have been the mall in their present and I think they met the younger versions of people they knew in their present. I would like to say that a bowling alley and a shop (for goods) were also involved. I do remember one scene one of the friends couldn’t meet up and help since he needed to help his mom with the compost and another character noted how compost piles smelled.
I know this isn’t a lot to go off of, particularly for the second book description but please let me know if anyone has any ideas. I’d love to remember what these titles are.
