Dark Matter, Upgrade, and Recursion by Blake Crouch are science fiction thrillers that are fast paced and a good mix of science/action/some more human elements!
For more mystery thriller, I would recommend The Last One by Will Dean (and I was told to go into it as blind as possible and after having read it, would definitely echo that sentiment).
For horror/psychological thriller, I would recommend We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer! I flew through it in one sitting

I found Gone Girl to be a very exciting, relatively simple read.
