I recently finished Berserk a couple of weeks ago and I’ve had some time to think and soak the story up. Now this is a very subjective statement and not something that will apply to everyone. But for me personally Berserk is the greatest piece of fiction I’ve ever read. It’s unparalleled. Guts’ tragic yet inspiring story arc and character development is the best I’ve ever seen from a single character ever. The art is phenomenal and progressively get’s better and better as the manga continues. The emotions, twists and gut wrenching moments that this series produces was utterly amazing. So moments were so dark it genuinely made me sick. Which sounds like a bad thing but the point I’m making is that I’ve never read anything that invoked those sort of emotions out of me. At the end of the story I cried. Now I don’t ever cry at fiction, it’s just not something that get’s that sort of emotion out of me. But Berserk, I was balling my eyes out I couldn’t stop. Berserk is amazing and will be forever something that I hold onto. Anyway I was also curious to know everyone’s opinion of Berserk here and where it ranks among your favourite stories ever?
