I just finished Daryll by Jackie Ess and I have no idea what to think of it as a whole but I was compelled with it. I found the weirdness, pacing and odd structure of daryll interesting though I can't say those are the main things I liked. Its not broadly known so I don't know where to find similar books, most trans lit isn't really similar. The other two books I'm thinking of are Nevada and a Michelle Tea memoir called Valencia. I guess what I liked about the former two is the realism in how people think and behave, the down to earthness and the levity making it not too much of a pity party. With the latter I just really like the writing style that I can't really describe. Not necessarily looking for lgbt books but I'm also interested in those.
