What are some "mature" books that have the same vibes as fairytales such as: Cinderella (2015), Ever After (1998), The Princess Bride (1987), Snow White & The Huntsman (2012), Maleficent (2014), Enchanted (2007), and pretty much every Disney princess movie to ever exist? But for older, more mature audiences (teens and up) and not children? And don't say Grimm's Fairytales, lol.

Look at the author Hanna Alkaf – her books Hamra and the Jungle of Memories, and The Girl and the Ghost are based on classic fairytales and Malaysian folklore. They’re dark and creepy in places, while still being suitable for teens (but I’m 45 and I love them 🙂).
