The Only One Left by Riley Sager.
I don't know how many of you know or remember about how I read "The Silent Patient" and was blown away by it. That was my first book. Now I am reading "The Only One Left". And let me tell you, the former is nothing infront of the latter.
OH MY HOLY GOD!!!! My heart feels like it's leaving my chest because it's pounding like crazy. I am an ardent lover of cinema and I can assure you, no movie has ever made me feel this vulnerable or anxious. Every chapter I finish, I feel like the suspense is getting too much to handle.
I am 300 pages down now and the end is near. And even now, I have no answers. All I have are questions and conflicting theories. I don't care what the end is. This is an appreciation post for Riley Sager. Sir, you have outdone yourself with this.
The Only One Left is a masterpiece. It's an institution for me on how to write suspense thrillers, create enduring, vivid characters, describe situations and places with clarity and elaboration while maintaining outstanding consistency, and in the end, write a highly emotional and memorable mystery/shades of horror story that will haunt you for days to come.
Haven't been able to put the book down since I started. Amazing. I feel so much alive after I have started to read this.
P. S:- Would love some suggestions from you all. Books that are highly suspenseful, mysterious and well written like "The Only One Left". I am not stopping now. Thank you in advance.
