Help! I've been looking for months. Looking for a bigger book, maybe a little more challenging, for a 11 year old. He's a really fast and advanced reader, but also still… 11. So likes action and sports vs. emotional conflict etc.
He's read Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Hatchet & sequel, Hunger Games, Watership Down, Adventures of Mark Twain, Beowulf, Treasure Island, Golden Compass series, Wrinkle in Time, Black Cauldron series, Ranger's Apprentice and Wings of Fire and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid etc. The kid versions of the classics. (He doesn't like the Percy Jackson series for some reason) He's read all of his books multiple times now. He'll read anything, but the kid books, he's done in like 15 minutes and then pestering me for video games. He's currently reading Joe Posnanski's 100 baseball moments. Like over and over and over.
I'd like a bigger book. Like 500 pages. One that will challenge him and keep him occupied for a bit. But every time I find one, it just feels off for his age or dated culturally. There must be something! Anyone?
