Edit: Apparently, I posted this in the wrong thread. I think Reddit is too damn big for someone like me to keep track.
I should have mentioned in the last one, I don't read comics (that includes manga).
So, let's try this again.
This is it, Reddit. The moment if truth. I'm in a bookstores right now.
Recommend me a book to buy/read. I'm open to most genres other than romance, erotica, or that LitRPG stuff. I'm looking for fiction, but let's be as spontaneous as this post is being. Feel free to recommend fiction AND non-fiction. I'll buy one if each.
When it comes to non-fiction, I'm partial to history, biographies, and philosophy. But if there is a topic you're passionate about, make your case and maybe that's the one I'll pick.
I'm gonna go get a coffee. I'll probably be Herr at least a couple of hours.
But I don't have have all day so hurry your butts (I'm being cheeky, if that's not obvious.)

Fiction – Asako Yuzuki’s Butter is a great read (IMO) about a female journalist and the interviews she does with an alleged female serial killer who lured her victims with home-cooked meals. Deep dive into women’s role in modern Japanese society and what we do to create community.
Chain gang all stars
Nonfiction – The Immortal Life of Henriette Lacks
Fiction – Crier’s War – Nina Varela
Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, Richard Marcinko’s Rogue Warrior series, “All Creatures Great and Small” by James Herriot, “Inside Delta Force” by Eric Haney. Other authors I enjoy are John Grisham, Michael Crichton, Robin Cook, Janet Evanovich, David Baldacci and Kathy Reichs.
Why not ask the bookseller?
Non-Fiction: The Sirens of Mars
FIction: To Shape a Dragon’s Breath
*Blindsight*, by Peter Watts (Hard SciFi)
1776 by David McCullough is a fabulous history of America’s founding year and the leadership of George Washington.
