I'm looking for novels featuring young women who struggle with insecurity, loneliness, depression, or feelings of being unattractive people and lack romantic experience but who still find connection, love, or friendship over the course of the story.

I'm mainly interested in books that are more literary, introspective, and character-driven, rather than light romance or typical YA coming-of-age stories. The more emotional the better. I'm also open to queer literature.

i really liked “stop me if you’ve heard this one” by kristen arnett, “interesting facts about space” by emily austin and “eleanor oliphant is completely fine” by gail honeyman. all 3 deal with themes of grief and depression
