Hi everyone. Mostly coming here to hear from the broader community about this novel. I came across it in my Waterstones weekly. The premise sounds like it would be something I'd read but being the picky reader, I investigated a bit and found conversations online that pointed out that this book started as a Draco and Hermoine fanfic highly accused of plagiarism to the point where the fanfic doesn't exist online anymore (as one commenter pointed out.)
I'm not averted or disencourged by a multitude of content warnings, but this one seems too … crazy for even me to stomach. I wanted to ask if it truly is just some weirdos handmaids tale-esque reimagining of Draco and Hermoine, or if the traditionally published book is nothing like the fic?
Any insight further observations would be highly appreciated so I can make an informed reading choice.
Edit: It's not the characters but mostly revolves around the story told around these characters.
