Hello, I can’t decide between being the book in English or in my language, both have reasons why yes but also why not, what do you think is better? Or have you read it in both your own language and English and can you compare? Thanks for all the answers! (I couldn’t post this in r/books so I’m doing so here)

I’m always of the belief that if you’re comfortable enough to read a book in its original language, that you should read the book in its original language. I’m assuming your native language isn’t Classical Chinese, otherwise I’d assume that you’d simply read it in Classical Chinese.
Typically, the more widely-spoken a language is, the more likely you are to come across a translation that is suitable/reliable to the original text. So if your native language is a “popular” language in any sense, I’d imagine it’s probably better for your overall comprehension to read it in your native language.
But if your native language is fairly niche, it might be more reliable to read it in English. But without knowing what your native language is (or your overall comfortability with English reading comprehension) it’s hard to say for sure either way.
