The Green Mile is my favorite movie so I read the book and was not disappointed.

I just read I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Watched the movie on Netflix years ago and found out it was based on a book. The movie was eerie. The book was so good. I could not put it down.
I read Dune before the movies came out. The book/series is possibly the best piece of science fiction ever written. Written in the 60s. Way ahead of its time. More focused on the political and warfare of the future, less so the technology.
American Psycho movie was good. Book was great but drags a little. Amazing satire.

**The Expanse**. I saw the first two seasons and decided to try the books before watching more because I almost always enjoy the books more than the movie, although I still like the watch the adaptations.

The Expanse series did it for me. I don’t think I would have undertaken the 9 hefty novels plus novellas without the delight and investment I first had in the TV show.
Also more recently Slow Horses.

The Expanse — I watched the series and then listened to the audiobooks. I actually thought the TV series was a little better at character development than the book was, surprisingly. But the TV series ended much more abruptly than the book series; the book ending was much more satisfying, I thought.

Ready Player One, the movie is fun but the book is so much better

Lost City of Z. Very different works. I adore the movie and like the book. I mostly read it to add another layer to the movie, which I rewatch every couple years.
Oh also, Science of Interstellar by Kip Thorne for similar reasons. Made me appreciate the movie even more.

Annihlation. The book was fine, if a bit generic, read like a dozen pulp horror dimension books I’ve read or even like the Spatterjay pulp sci fi. The movie definitely had something more going on, it had a tone rarely seen in film or read in books which I quite liked and can’t really describe. A constant Unexplained eeriness.

The Long Walk by Steven King is about to get added to that list very shortly by a lot of people.

The Song of Ice and Fire Series. Back when HBO GoT season 3 was out. We were so optimistic for the end back then.
Love the books even if we never see the real ending.
