I really enjoy the way he writes, I've read the great and secret show by him, a few of his short story books, and am currently working on the second book in his "The Art" series Everville.
Suggestions don't need to be horror necessarily, I just haven't been able to enjoy other authors as much since discovering his writing and need suggestions.

This is just my personal experience and idk if it’s as deep as Clive barker, but anything by Dan Simmons gives me that same dark, mature, gritty tone. I’d suggest children of the night but honestly idk if Dan Simmons is close enough to what you’re looking for. Interested to hear what others have to say!
