Just got back from a trip where I found and read "The River People" a novel from the 1980s about an adventure on river boats in post civil war. It was a quick read but an enjoyable plot and I found the characters interesting enough to read to the end.
Apparently the "author" wrote dozens of books about pre-industrial America with multiple series about post civil war america, gold rush, and America's thrust west. When I got home I started researching and the only thing I could find was a suggestion that Lee Davis Willoughby is a pseudonym for multiple authors writing under this umbrella but I couldn't find much more information.
Would love to learn more about: this pseudonym and its publisher Dell Publishing Co. as well as anything about the series. It wasn't high brow literature but it was certainly a fun adventure and better written than most of the stuff printed these days.
Any recommendations for these types reads/authors?
