I’m looking for an post apocalypse book that’s kinda focusing on the survival and rebuilding aspects rather than the sort of exploring and fighting bits often explored. Maybe it’s settling down at a base and starting farming or learning how to forage and hunt and grow a community. I read parable of the sower and wanted the ending (spoiler here!!!!!) where the characters stay and build a community I wanted to hear about that and how they do it! Any recs are appreciated thanks :)))

Z for Zachariah
Also book 2 in The Book of the Unnamed Midwife series – you technically dont need to read book 1 but i think it would help.
I think the book credited with starting the genre is Earth Abides, so it was written before the action movie tropes got into the genre
One Second After
This is an off the wall suggestion to make here, given the left wing crowd (including myself), but if you can get over the Howard Roark/John Galt vibe of the thing, Alas, Babylon is a v. good read on the topic
It’s not exactly apocalypse, but you might enjoy Freedom’s Landing (first in a series) by Anne McCaffrey. Aliens invade Earth, mass abduct some folks as slaves, the troublesome ones get dropped on uninhabited planets to colonize them.
