Help me get back into reading

Hey y’all. I’m looking to get back into reading but I struggle with finding books so help me out please <3

I am looking for books that aren’t as mainstream. I want something that is morbid and taboo without it feeling like gore porn, like Aron baeuregard. However, I want something that’s is disturbing to the average person. I enjoy books that are fictional and nonfiction but I am not a huge fan of science fiction or fantasy (however I enjoy I have no mouth and I must scream). I want something that’s going to feel like the donner party, have religious undertones, Wisconsin death trip, Dante’s inferno, gothic Americana, and psychological.

Please help!!
