I read a lot, but it’s mostly on a fairly narrow topic- non fiction books about labor/community organizing. Some of these books are academic or theoretical in nature, but others are much more narrative driven, stories where people come together to win something against the odds. Whenever I want to read fiction, I think to myself, why would I want to read someone’s fictional story when there are so many fascinating real stories, but I’m beginning to think that’s a reductive way of looking at things.
