I've been reading a lot of big and heavy books lately and I think I need some easier reads for a while. I'm looking for short reads that I can read in an afternoon, around 150-300 pages. I prefer fantasy and romance (bonus points if it is queer!) but I read most books/genres, as long as it's not too dark or dreary. I would also prefer books published within the last 5 years, but older is fine too!
Would love any recommendations you guys have!

A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
Really short but inspiring read with a fun world to explore and stars a non-binary person and a robot as the main characters. It’s Sci-Fi and has a second book too if you want to have two short books to read!
How firm is the 300 page limit?
I ask because the Saints of Steel series by T Kingfisher is four books of fairly easy fantasy romance with comedy, sometimes involving queer people, and published in the past five years. They’re also around 400 pages each.
Penric And Desdemona is a fantasy series about a random guy that inherits the memories of a dozen women
Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher
Fun fairytale read, 240 pages.
Here after is a really quick read!

The Greenhollow Duology by Emily Tesh. I think combined both books are under (or maybe just at 300 pages).
