Planning to surprise my partner with 12 short books of fiction for her birthday. Could you recommend me some?

Could be of any genre except horror. She’s someone who’s been wanting to get back to reading for a while. So, perhaps, stuff that can help her ease back into reading again would work well.

I’ll wrap each book individually and ask her to open one each month. So 12 surprises in total!
