The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Listen to Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youth while you read or after you finish the book. ❤️
Let me know if you read fanfiction. I have a couple top favorite Harry Potter gay fanfics and one from The Hobbit that I’ll drop links for if you’re interested.

Kage series by Maris Black
The Ripliad series and Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith
In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan
The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice
I also want to add a rec for the two really sweet Prince & Knight picture books by Daniel Haack, just because I want them to get more love.
If you’re open to ships from stories that aren’t explicitly M/M–
Batman comics
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke
Sherlock Holmes series by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (and Zelda Fitzgerald). I’m personally convinced that Gatsby = Ernest Hemingway and Nick = F. Scott.
Richard II by William Shakespeare. The performance with David Tennant is great.
Dracula by Bram Stoker. Stoker apparently based Dracula on Walt Whitman, whom he had a huge crush on and wrote fanletters to asking for a relationship. Walt Whitman’s poetry is great too btw.
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
