I’ve never been a reader. I think the first practical magic book was actually the first book I completed, and in my late 20’s. I decided to read it because the movie is my absolute favorite comfort movie. I adore these books.
I’m currently on book 3 (reading in order of publishing) and I’m starting to prepare myself for the end and looking for my next fix. I’m honestly just kind of concerned I won’t fall in love with a new universe like I did this one.
Some things of note:
– The main appeal of these books to me is the magical/witch aspect. Fantasy is a must.
– I also love the way the world is built with magic. The warm, traditional fall feeling is perfect to me.
– Doesn’t have to be focused on romantic love.
– Women’s empowerment/closeness with other women in a platonic and familial way are some favorite themes from these books, too
– LGBTQ+ themes would be a plus, though! Just not essential.
