I am re-reading Figuring by Maria Popova, she mentions many historical/academic figures throughout the book and draws similarities to those in the same fields but years apart and how they have influenced those after them… anyway- she has a whole chapter dedicated to Euclid and Mary Somerville and it peaked my interest
I am vaguely familiar with Edward Lorenz and his “chaos theory” so was wondering if anyone has read it- is it any good? I am so used to reading biographies but never books dedicated to the findings/theories of what made these figures famous to begin with.
