I'm reading something that ended up having that kind of dynamic, and it's made me interested in reading more relationships like it. HOWEVER, I am a bit of a very uh, base instinct sort of person. I'm liable to get bored without big cool fights to get excited over. My favorite thing is actually army building stuff, and with a lot of spectacle-filled wars, but maybe without too much dark and grit. I'm not expecting this though, bcos my favorite subgenre is a bit too niche, I understand.
Additionally, I like things uncomplicated just in general. Which also includes relationships in the books I read. I'd prefer no long drawn out will-they-won't-theys.
Anyway. I'll just say that I understand I got a bit too incredibly specific, and none of them are a deal-breaker. As long as the stuff in the title at least are met.
The only thing I can think of rn is Iron Widow, which hey, it might finally be time to pick that up. How many cool mech fights does it have?
