I’m in the process of writing a novel about the history of a fictional family. The narrator will be one of the great grandsons, who is writing the story (which is nonfiction to him) in novel form because he’s a novelist.
I’m having a hard time finding similar stories I can use as reference. Episcopal stories aren’t really a good fit because my book won’t be in letter or journal form. It will be a novel—his novel—but with plenty of asides, notes and references to the narrator’s own life. The closest thing I’ve found lately has been the Emily Wilde series by Heather Fawcett, which features a narrator who is writing a book about her adventures.
Does anyone have any other novel suggestions? Extra points for fantasy/sci fi. (The family I’m writing about will be a species of genetically engineered cat people, lol.)
