I recently finished Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus and absolutely loved it – the writing style, the clever humor, the strong female lead, the emotional depth… everything just clicked for me. It struck a great balance between being entertaining and thought-provoking.
Now I’m looking for something similar – a novel with a smart, complex woman at the center, a bit of social commentary, some wit, and ideally a unique narrative voice. Bonus points if it’s set in the mid-20th century, but I’m open to anything with a similar vibe.
Would love to hear your suggestions!
