I’m about 1/3 in, but I’m really enjoying The Lies Of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. It’s kinda a medieval fantasy thieves guild type adventure, highly recommend

between two fires! not very heavy on the fantasy/magic aspect but not ‘ordinary’ historical fiction either, set in plague-ridden medieval france. one of my favourite reads /ever/. i think it fits your request perfectly
