Yes, I like male fictional characters who appear to have a classic type 1 personality – charismatic, larger-than-life, aloof, and impeccable—but are a bit pathetic deep down lol.
I would love some books where such a man or boy doesn't even realise how emotional and lonely he really is, how deeply in need of attention and someone to care about him.
I would love it if his POV/inner monologues were very grandiose, very pompous, and brimming with self-importance about making the world understand how brilliant, memorable, iconic, and remarkable he really is, and he is indeed all that, but the POV just comes across as a bit sad and hilarious to the readers.
And how emotional and desperate for positive attention he is is mostly evident from his actions, which are in direct contrast with his POV/monologue, where he thinks he's not stupid enough to have emotions or care for anyone other than himself… that's for plebeians.
