It wrecked me. It’s a heartfelt love story that is slowburn. It’s a story that is seemingly going to end in a tragedy but is actually one of the best plot- saving twists, leading to a happy ending- I’ve ever seen! This author managed to deliver a tragedy and mend everything- all at once lol.
It’s a fantasy mythos about a young slave girl from the south with a curse placed upon her by the gods that is actually a blessing to lead her to her destiny in disguise. Through many trials and tribulations, she meets a northerner who is the one she’s destined to be with, but in a fleeting encounter- not realizing the act/ promise they made towards each other one night holds a deep cultural meaning for those of his people- she unknowingly is now promised to him & him to her (similar to being married but without the ceremony yet)- all before they’re ripped apart for several years (time skip) by the sinister schemes of another with an obsessive inferiority complex and greed for power in his heart (the villain that stands in the way of their love story).
Will the male lead recognize her as the one he’s been waiting for all this time when they finally reunite? How long will they be able to be together before they’re ripped apart again? Will they ever meet again while the other still breaths? In one final trial, the prophecy to a story than begin long before they were born will finally come to an end through faked betrayals, loss, grief, deceptive identities, & setting the balance of the world straight. But just when you think it’s over, there’s a brilliantly surprising twist regarding their happy ending & love story 😉 (one male lead is angelic but evil and the other with the supposed mud blood of the earth dwellers is the righteous, good one- and this connects back around to the secret twist)
(You can find it on xbato.com/ BATOTO- same site ad-free or manhwaclan is a a good backup but beware the popups on that on)
