I started working on this as a side project because I wanted to start a book club for my company. We have a huge book club Slack channel, but it was just everyone sharing what they were reading separately. I heard there was some interest in starting a club but I was stressed at trying to make everyone happy with a single book choice. I also have a book club with my friends where picking books is a little stressful – everyone is worried people will not be happy with their choice!
Obviously polls already exist, like through iMessage, but what I found with polls is the vote got split a lot of the time. So this site lets you still do a poll, but you can also do a random drawing from all the books people add to your group, or you can do a "bracket" where books get narrowed down over a few rounds. So nobody can just vote for their own book haha 🙂
