Something shifted in me after years of reading only non-fiction. I felt the need for something more emotionally textured. I found it in the works of Alejandro Zambra and Nona Fernández, who write about political trauma and memory with such tender, generous prose.

I’d love to read more contemporary Latin American authors who balance the political with the personal in such a powerful way. Any suggestions?
