Grew up in a conservative town – obviously the education that was offered wasn’t great. Went to college in a very diverse city and took some courses that sparked my interest in learning the true history of America & its people. Open to any and all suggestions, thank you in advance!!

**Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America**, by Joy-Ann Reid, 2024. ~350 pages.

It’s takes place during the Civil Rights era. I read this recently for my non-fiction book club. We all enthusiastically agreed that this book is very engaging right from the start. We learned A LOT about our history and found it inspiring, particularly during these troubled times.
