Book to get back into reading as an adult

Hi! I used to love reading as a teen, I loved books such as The House with Chicken Legs and The Girl with the Shark Teeth.

Looking for something not too explicit, but a good addictive read. Not quite sure what genres I like, but something preferably set in this world 😅

Some queer representation would be great too!
