Books on religion, war, and scientific advancement

Hello! I'm looking for books that can inform me on how a country's war/military history can affect its religious uptake. Or vice versa. And generally how that also affects scientific advancement. Got curious about this topic as I'm reading 'Poppy War'.

Alternatively, you can also point me to any other resources if not for books. Or even let me know if there's a more niche subreddit I can post this to. Thank you 🙂
