Book: Shattered Soul
I started reading the book in 7th grade and didn't finish it, so I recently decided to pick it up again.
The story is about a teenager named Seth. He's a stoner. He comes from a broken home. His brother Calvin beats him. Calvin sells and smokes meth.
The story starts at school where Seth first lays eyes on a beautiful girl named Ali. They meet and fall in love. He never thought he could be with a girl like her. Mind you, Ali was a good girl and her dad was a cop.
As the story goes on Seth starts smoking meth. The way this book describes everything makes you feel like you are actually doing the drugs. It's Euphoria in a book.
As you get closer to the end, you notice that Ali starts to change. Almost like she's losing feelings.
To his surprise, Seth catches her at his house buying meth from Calvin. She was hooked and he was heartbroken.
Days pass and Seth comes home to find Ali and Calvin having sex. Seth loses it. Ali apologizes but Seth was so hurt.
Next thing you know, Ali is dead. She overdoses. She's gone. Seth loses it even more. The cops are called.
When they arrive, Seth shoots Calvin. And as that happens, they shoot Seth. Killing him. He's gone. The last line in the book is "life's a bitch, and then you die…"
I can't believe it took me 10 years to find out that my favorite characters in my favorite book (THAT I DIDN'T EVEN FINISH LMAO) are dead.
I HIGHLY recommend reading this book if you like realism. It's my favorite book for a reason.
