I'd like some angsty war/traumatic romance book suggestions so I can learn from others how to properly write romance. I'm more interested in quality writing and realistic relationship development than steamy scenes.
More specifically, I'm looking for relationships where both characters are guarded/traumatized, but I want to avoid tropes like sexual violence.
And if it matters: I've read Fourth Wing, which has a war-based romance in it, but I found it quite smutty and would prefer something more mature.
