I have realized that some of the series I enjoy reading are written by authors who also are known for writing for tv shows and while writing for tv doesn't automatically mean someone can also write a good novel, I was wondering if there are any other authors out there with similar credentials.
The authors I have read who I know fit that criteria are:
Anthony Horowitz
Robert Thorogood
Richard Osman
Even though all the books I have read by these authors are mystery books, I am open to suggestions from other genres.
TIA

Are you specifically looking for a series? I really liked David Benioff’s *City of Thieves*, but it’s a standalone novel.
George RR Martin worked on the second version of The Twilight Zone
Galveston.
_Drunk on All Your Strange New Words_ was written by a Doctor Who writer who thought the idea was a little too weird for the Doctor Who.
Douglas Adams and John Scalzi come to mind if you’re open to sci-fi.
*The Mutual Friend* by Carter Bays was really good imo! He also wrote/co-created *How I Met Your Mother*.
Rob Thomas (not the Matchbox 20 guy).
He wrote for Veronica Mars, Party Down, and iZombie (among other things).
He also wrote some YA books in the 90s.
**Clive Barker**
**Ray Bradbury**
**George R.R. Martin**
**Stephen King**
**Richard Matheson**

Author Michael wrote for soap operas One Life to Live and Another World. He wrote a best seller called The Killing Club while working on the shows. His three Cuddy and Savile mysteries starting with Uncivil Season are great, and his a number of gently comic novels – Handling Sin, Foolscap, Dingley Falls
Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horselman, Undone) has a book of short stories called Someone Who Will Love You In All Your Damaged Glory. I absolutely love that book.

Charlie Kaufman, started as a tv writer (including on the ill-fated, short-lived, ahead of its time The Dana Carvey Show alongside Steph/vens Colbert & Carrell) before moving to movies
– Antkind (I haven’t read this yet, it’s in my queue, but it’s by Charlie Kaufman so it’s bound to be weird)
Noah Hawkley famous Tv Writer wrote a pretty good book!
The book coming out this month “Proof” is by veteran tv writer Jon Cowan.
Suzanne Collins got her start in children’s television before working on a children’s book series, and then she moved to YA with The Hunger Games.
