hi all, just recently started reading again since i was a middle schooler. i used to read at least 3 books a week, and i would get in trouble for staying up late and reading. then life and the iphone happened and i stopped reading for like 9 years 🙁
recently picked it back up again as someone in my early 20s. but it’s extra hard for me to get into books now, and my attention span has (sadly) suffered since i was a kid. when i was little i remember thinking there was no such thing as bad books, as i would become thoroughly invested in every book i would read and couldn’t put it down until i was finished. now very few books i read have given me that same feeling that i felt when i was a kid.
here are my favorites since i started reading again – either i just couldn’t put them down until i was done, or it gave me a new perspective on life/a new way of approaching how i live as a young adult.
TLDR;
based on the following titles, what are some of your favorite books you’d think i like? preferably fiction please!
in order of most recent to least:
• misery
• the perks of being a wallflower
• piranesi
• my friends by hisham matar

• the book thief
my favorite books as a kid that i want to re-read as an adult:
• percy jackson and the olympians series
• the hunger games series
