I’m looking for creeping horror sci-fi in the vein of Lovecraft.
I think the less the horror is seen the better.
I’ve heard The Ballad of Black Tom is good, but I’ve not read Horror at Red Hook is it essential to read it first?
I had a slight crack at Edgar Allan Poe, but his style was a little archaic for me
Here’s what I read recently:
The Southern Reach trilogy – I liked it throughout
Ascension by Nicholas Binge – some good ideas, the Leviathan descriptions sounded a but goofy and the twist to the end was not great
The Fisherman – the substory was decent up until the spell slinging style duel
My work is not yet done – was alright, bit disappointed though.
