I'm 19f and I haven't read a new book in a couple of years, I just keep rereading what I grow up reading. I can't find adult books that I find enjoyable like the books I read in middle school, they just don't have the some life to them. I like fantasy and fiction and if it has romance it has to be sweet romance, the kind where they actually love and want to protect each other before they even get together. I just want reading to feel magical again.
Y'all have got to help me, I've read the same book 22 times (not an exaggeration, literally 22 times)
Thank you ❤️

When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
This is a great question, I’d love to help. Can you name some titles of the books you do love to give a baseline? Like, what’s the one you read 22 times?
I think you’re looking for something like cozy fantasy. No book recs as it’s not my genre but you should look into it.
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson
Tallulah and the Big Clock (full disclosure: I wrote it). I also enjoy clean fantasy-esque books that have a child’s imagination to them. It’s only like 150 pages. There’s some tragedy in it, though…
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is exactly what you are looking for. I also second Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
The Mitford series. So sweet. Heavy topics, but no sex or swearing. The Cat Who… series, samesies.
Terry Pratchett’s “Discworld” books are a great combination of fantasy, whimsy, and humor.
The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery. A book for adults written by the author of Anne of Green Gables
You might like books by Clare Pooley!
