Hi, I love reading to my 8 year old son. I have read to him most of the Roald Dahl books, and others such as Wild Robot, Charlottes Web, Wonder, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to name a few. I was wondering if you have any other suggestions on a book that are not too kiddish and will sustain my interest also. I am not ready to read Harry Potter yet because I want to explore more books with him first rather than stick to one series. Please give me some suggestions.

Brian Jacques – Redwall series
Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson was my daughter’s favorite book at that age. She’s 15 and still reads it again from time to time.
