I was watching a video featuring a scientist and a park ranger that live on remote lake baikal and I got inspired.
I'd love to read a fiction book about solitary characters taking care of the natural life – be it a park, mountains, arctic, garden, desert, forest, alien planet – whatever – and experiencing a little bit of that day to day caretaking and maintenance.
The Martian is a pretty good example of this; I enjoy the survivalist aspect as well as the science. Whatever genre is fine 🙂
